Wolverhampton Wanderers 1972 LS shirt
A fourth place league finish in 1971 qualified Wolverhampton Wanderers for the newly created Uefa Cup the following season. Wolves played magnificant in Europe and beat Juventus en route to the final. The first ever Uefa Cup final was contested between Wolves and Tottenham Hotspurs over two legs. Unfortunately for Wolves, they lost the first leg at Molineux 2-1, before drawing 1-1 at White Hart Lane two weeks later. A memorable ocassion for the club despite coming runners up.
