Between his debut away against Kilmarnock on 27 March 1963 and his final game away against StJohnstone on 26 April 1975 Jimmy Johnstone made 515 appearances for Celtic and scored 130 goals. An integral member of the Celtic team that won nine Scottish Championships in a row between 1966 and 1974, “Jinky” was also one of the Lisbon Lions, the Celtic team that became the first British side to lift the European Cup in 1967, when Johnstone was voted third in The European Footballer of the Year Award. In a poll among the Celtic fans in 2002, Jimmy Johnstone was voted the club's greatest ever player.
