Manchester City 1969 FA Cup Final Retro Shirt

Manchester City have won the FA Premier League eight times since moving into the City of Manchester Stadium in 2003. First with Roberto Mancini in 2012 with 'the' Sergio Agüero goal. Then with Manuel Pellegrini in 2014, and The Cityzens have added six more FAPL Titles to date with Pep Guardiola. Along the way Sergio Agüero has scored 260 record breaking goals to became City's all-time record goalscorer. The two English Championships secured during the previous 80 years at MaineMoss Side, mean City are 10 times Champions of England. Today the Blue Moon shines brightly over The Etihad Stadium in Manchester where The Colin Bell Stand pays tribute to 'The King of the Kippax', and the custodians of The Kippax continue 'singing in the rain' and doing 'The Poznan'. It's 'Typical City'.

Neil Young harvested the only goal of the 1969 FA Cup Final when Manchester City beat Leicester City at Wembley Stadium. This is peak 'Mercer-Allison' Manchester City:- Harry Dowd in goal; Captain and 1969 FWA Footballer of the Year Tony Book, Glyn Pardoe, Mike Doyle and Tommy Booth at the back; Colin Bell and Alan Oakes in the engine room; and Mike Summerbee, Franny Lee, Neil Young and Tony Coleman upfront. City wore their famous red and black striped shirts, instigated by Malcolm Allison and inspired by AC Milan, at Wembley in 1969, and wore the red and black striped shirts again when winning The 1970 Football League Cup Final at Wembley Stadium and the 1970 UEFA European Cup Winners Cup Final in the Prater Stadion Vienna too. As Colin Bell said of the Manchrster City 1969 FA Cup Winners "It was a real team effort from one to eleven", and Nijinsky was right. This is peak 'Mercer-Allison' Manchester City - Colin Bell, Francis Lee and Mike Summerbee - and it's epitomised by the Manchester City 1969 FA Cup Final Retro Shirt.
