Paul Stewart scored the only goal of the game in Tottenham Hotspur's 1991 FA Cup 3rd Round tie at Bloomfield Road versus 4th Division Blackpool. Second Division Oxford United were dispatched eventually,  4-2 in the 4th Round at White Hart Lane with Gary Mabbutt, Gary Lineker, and Paul Gascoigne with a brace sealing the deal. Second Division Portsmouth at Fratton Park in the 5th Round was a different matter. Trailing at half-time to a Mark Chamberlain goal, Gazza dug deep, on a ploughed field, for two goals at The Milton End to ease Spurs to a 1-2 win on the South Coast. Drawn at home to Second Division Notts County in the 6th Round, it was Gazza again who won the game for Spurs with the winner in a hard fought 2-1. On to the semi-final. A North London Derby, and the first ever FA Cup Semi Final to be played at Wembley Stadium. Gazza had it put to bed with the free-kick of free- kicks after just 5 minutes. Gary Lineker added another on 10 minutes, and although Arsenal got a goal back, Lineker made it 3-1 to Spurs.

The FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 18 May 1991 was England Itaia '90 revisited but, this wasn't Nessum Dorma. It was Vivaldi. Four Seseans In One Day. 1). Gazza wrecks his knee but still stands in the wall to defend the free-kick he's just conceded. No matter. 2). Stuart Pearce bends his free-kick around the wall and Forest are a goal up, and Gazza leaves the field on a stretcher. 3). Gary Lineker wins and then misses a penalty but Paul Stewart equalises for Tottenham, and then In extra-time 4). Des Walker, under pressure from Tottenham Captain Gary Mabbutt, inadvertently heads the own goal that wins Tottenham a record breaking 8th FA Cup. Captain Gary Mabbutt climbs the 39 Steps, lifts The FA Cup and places the silverware on The Shelf. The 1991 FA Cup Final Man of the Match is Paul Stewart.
