Spurs weren't supposed to be at Anfield in the FA Cup 6th Round. Due to an FA ban imposed upon the club, for alleged financial irregularities, they weren't even supposed to be in the 1994-95 FA Cup at all. Alan Sugar sorted all that out with the assistance of heavyweight barristers, and Spurs were reinstated into The FA Cup a week before their 3rd Round tie versus Non-League Altrincham. In the 6th Round away to Liverpool, Manager Gerry Francis, who had replaced Ossie Ardiles, produced a tactical masterstroke by including Ronnie Rosenthal wide left to nullify Liverpool Right Back Rob Jones. In one of the great Spurs performances Sheringham and Klinsman were sublime, each scoring a memorable goal in the 1-2 victory. Spurs were applauded of the pitch by the whole of Anfield, including over 5000 travelling Spurs fans on The Anfield Road End. As Teddy Sheringham later remarked "That was a special day".
